<![CDATA[Our Week 6 All-Stars might be the most random list of players we'll have in our weekly All-Star series this season. Three pass-catchers made our All-Star team this week despite losing efforts. The AFC South, widely viewed as one of the NFL's worst divisions, has plenty of representation on this week's All-Star team as well, with three Tennessee Titans players making the cut following their first win of the season. The battle for the spot at quarterback was also between a pair of AFC South rivals. However, we have one player who has remained a mainstay on this list: Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III. For the fourth time this season, Walker has been named one of our weekly All-Stars as he continues to dominate in his first year in Kansas City. Can he make it onto the roster again when he faces his former team next week? We won't know that answer until next Tuesday. So, let's take a deeper dive into our Week 6 All-Stars. The top two choices were both in London, and Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence had four touchdown passes to C.J. Stroud's three. But the Houston Texans flew home with the win, so he gets the nod. Stroud threw for 312 yards, including 34 on three passes to newly acquired Marvin Harrison. New England Patriots star Drake Maye threw for three touchdowns, but he earned this spot two weeks in a row, and he was against the New York Jets. Houston, meanwhile, has won two straight after an 0-4 start, so the head-to-head tiebreaker is huge as it tries to catch up to Jacksonville. Kenneth Walker is a regular on here, and he was an easy call, rushing for 128 yards and two scores in the Kansas City Chiefs' win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He already had his bye week and still leads the NFL in rushing. He's now on pace for 2,261 yards, putting him on track to set the NFL's single-season record. We could have gone with Buffalo Bills star James Cook for the second spot, but Chuba Hubbard stepped up for the Carolina Panthers, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown in their win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Hubbard went all of last year without a 100-yard game, but now has gotten 120-plus in two straight weeks. It was a rough week for wide receivers, with many of the best performances coming in losses and barely any with more than one touchdown. Malik Nabers got most of his yards in that bonkers fourth quarter when J.J. McCarthy threw for 243 yards, but he finished with 12 receptions for 165 yards in a monster game as the New York Giants nearly pulled off a wild comeback against the New Orleans Saints. Seattle Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba is on here all the time, so 134 yards and zero touchdowns won't make the cut this week. Instead, we'll give another losing-effort nod to Tre Tucker, who had 97 yards and two touchdowns as the Las Vegas Raiders tried to rally against Buffalo. I shamelessly crowdsourced this, posting a poll on X with four compelling candidates, and Isaiah Likely's 99 yards and a touchdown in a loss won handily. This continues to be the Year of the Tight End, so you have two-touchdown days by Carolina's Tommy Tremble, Atlanta Falcons standout Kyle Pitts and Houston Texans veteran Foster Moreau. We also strongly considered Colston Loveland going for 65 and a score in the Chicago Bears' win. This is another week where we could do our version of 12 personnel and recognize two tight ends at the expense of a second receiver. A bit of a surprise here, but New Orleans gave up zero sacks and only two tackles for loss in 68 snaps against a vaunted Giants defensive front. The Saints also paved the way for 175 rushing yards on 38 carries, so props to the starting five (l-r) of Asim Richards, David Edwards, Erik McCoy, Cesar Ruiz and Taliese Fuaga. They actually played eight OLs, with rookie Jeremiah Wright playing more snaps than Ruiz (knee injury) and two other backups getting in late. Seven teams gave up no sacks, so tough competition this week. Light week for the defensive front, and really, how often do we get to put the Titans on here? Jeffery Simmons had two sacks, a forced fumble and recovery and six total tackles in the Titans' win over the Colts. Nick Herbig got his first two sacks of 2026, part of a five-sack day for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Had the Bucs won, we could have gone with defensive lineman A'Shawn Robinson, who has two picks this year after totaling one in his NFL career before this season. The Cleveland Browns are validating themselves with every win, and a division victory over the Baltimore Ravens was very defense-driven. Carson Schwesinger had 13 tackles and a forced fumble, and that forced fumble came off a Derrick Henry carry in the fourth quarter. That set up the tying touchdown. Schwesinger's top five in the league in tackles in his second season and already a core leader on a Browns' defense that's ninth in points allowed. We could have also gone with Denver's Alex Singleton, at the heart of the Broncos' big win against the Seahawks. If I were really a company man, I'd have pulled off a rare double with the Bears' Kyler Gordon and the Steelers' Jalen Ramsey, then had the graphic show FOX mainstay Gordon Ramsay. I think the different spelling scared me off, though. But Gordon had three sacks and two forced fumbles in 17 snaps, while Ramsey had two sacks, including one on the final play in overtime. However, we'll give this spot this week to Travis Hunter, who did something that hasn't been done in a game since 2002. Hunter had an interception and a touchdown catch in the fourth quarter in the Jaguars' London loss to the Texans, becoming the first player to do that in a game since Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins. Wait, more Titans? I can't stop watching the blocked punt that keyed the Titans' first victory of 2026. Chestnut pushed Indianapolis Colts safety Jonathan Owens (that's Simone Biles' husband) backwards so completely that Owens blocked the punt by Rigoberto Sanchez, and Oladejo picked up the loose ball and returned it for a touchdown and their first lead in the fourth quarter. Tennessee was down 13-0 at one point and won despite just 186 yards of total offense, the second-fewest in 92 wins across the NFL this season.]]>

<![CDATA[Ever since Myles Garrett was traded to the Rams in early June, L.A. had been favored to win the Super Bowl. That reign is now over. In Week 6, the Rams fell to 2-4 after a stunning loss to the Cardinals, who won outright as 12.5-point underdogs — the largest upset by point spread this season. L.A. is just the fifth outright preseason Super Bowl favorite in the past 50 seasons to have a losing record through six games. None of the previous four reached a conference championship game. Instead, it's their division rival who has taken over as the new favorite. Let’s take a look at the latest Super Bowl odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Oct. 19. This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX Sports may be compensated. The 49ers are 6-0 for the first time since 2019, when they reached the Super Bowl. It’s their second time starting 6-0 under Kyle Shanahan. Brock Purdy is playing at an MVP level and has now reached the 1,500 career pass attempts needed to qualify for the NFL’s all-time passer rating leaderboard. His 105.6 career passer rating is the highest in NFL history. Meanwhile, the Rams have dropped to fourth on the oddsboard at +1200 after their shocking loss to the Cardinals. At 2-4, L.A. has an early hole to dig itself out of. Buffalo Rises: The Bills followed their thrilling 37-34 overtime win over the Rams with a victory over the Raiders in Las Vegas, improving to 5-1. Buffalo now sits second on the Super Bowl oddsboard at +750, up from +800 last week. After opening 3-0 and stumbling against the Patriots, the Bills have won two straight as they chase their first Super Bowl title. Packers and Patriots: Green Bay has looked like a different team over the past two weeks, following its blowout of Chicago with a dominant win over Dallas. The Packers have shut down two explosive offenses in consecutive weeks, shortening their Super Bowl odds from +6500 to +3000. New England also handled business, moving from +2000 to +1800 as Drake Maye continued his in-season turnaround. Maye is the first Patriots quarterback with at least three touchdown passes in three straight games since Tom Brady in 2017. After throwing one touchdown and six interceptions in his first three games, Maye has 10 touchdowns and just one interception in Weeks 4-6. Biggest Fallers: The Chargers’ nightmare start continued as they fell to 0-6 for the first time since 2000, when they opened 0-11. Their current head coach, Jim Harbaugh, started at quarterback in Weeks 5-10 that season. L.A.’s Super Bowl odds have tumbled to +50000, a massive drop from +1600 before the season. Philadelphia is also heading in the wrong direction. For the first time in franchise history, the Eagles have followed a 2-0 start with four straight losses. Now, with Jalen Hurts ruled out for the rest of the season, their Super Bowl odds have fallen to +20000, the longest they've been all year.]]>

What To Know: Peralta won two games in the ALCS, and made three appearances across the series, including starts in Games 2 and 6. In Game 2, he went six scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing four hits. In Game 4, he came on in relief, going 0.2 innings, and in Game 6, he allowed one run in 5.1 innings, surrendering five hits and striking out three. What To Know: Bauers might be solely responsible for sending the Dodgers home when it's all said and done. In Game 3, after L.A. took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth, Bauers hit a 2-run jack in the top of the seventh that scored Christian Yelich and put the Brewers ahead for good. <![CDATA[The 49ers made it harder than it had to be, but a clutch defensive stand thwarted a fourth-quarter rally by the Commanders and San Francisco escaped with its sixth win of the season. San Francisco dominated both sides of the ball through the first three quarters. Washington’s defense had no answer for Brock Purdy, who picked apart the Commanders' secondary as if he was in 7-on-7 drills. The Commanders offense didn’t fare any better. They had no running game, and Jayden Daniels struggled to move the chains on third down. Washington’s offense eventually found its footing, and an injury to Mike Evans, who was having another big game, seemed to knock the 49ers offense off rhythm. It was too little, too late for the Commanders, who are reeling after a 1-4-1 start. Here are my takeaways: That’s what the standings say, at least. The Niners are the league’s only 6-0 team (the Vikings are 5-0), and they have the best point differential in the NFL. The on-field product makes a convincing case, too. With how good head coach Kyle Shanahan’s team has looked against top competition this season, we can overlook the dodgy fourth quarter against a bad Commanders team. That nervous ending gave the defense – overlooked while the offense got off to a hot start – a chance to shine on the national stage. It didn’t disappoint, coming up with two stops to end Washington’s comeback bid. The 49ers pass rush is still getting home without defensive end Nick Bosa, Fred Warner remains the NFL’s best linebacker, and the secondary has been sticky in coverage all season. The offense is still the engine powering this 49ers machine. Shanahan has reclaimed his title as the NFL’s best play-caller. A healthy Christian McCaffrey has rejuvenated the run game, and he looks fresher now that Shanahan has him on a tighter snap count. Shanahan’s schematic tweaks have also enhanced the run game. He still appears to be tinkering with new strategies, so we haven’t seen the final form yet. With Brock Purdy on a heater, the passing game looks better than ever, but some concern remains after wide receiver Mike Evans left the game with an Achilles injury. This offense has already had to make do without a full deck this season. Christian Kirk hasn’t played, and Deebo Samuel wasn’t available Monday night. If the 49ers have to play without Evans for a stretch, Shanahan and Purdy should be able to keep the passing game afloat. Speaking of which… They don’t hand out MVP awards in mid-October, but if they did, Purdy would win it by a unanimous vote. Purdy's excellent start put him in great company after Monday night's performance. Only two quarterbacks have ever started 6-0 and registered 15 touchdowns with two or fewer turnovers in that span: Tom Brady in 2015 and Brock Purdy this year. Monday night was quite the showcase for the 49ers quarterback, who completed 21-of-29 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown. The offensive line certainly made Purdy’s job easier. He faced pressure on only 17.6% of his dropbacks, per Next Gen Stats, but whenever things broke down around him, Purdy found a way to make a play. All three of his scrambles went for first downs, and he made this ridiculous throw with a Washington defender at his feet. Purdy will face tougher tests down the line, but if he keeps beating up on these tomato-can defenses and the 49ers keep stacking wins, another player will struggle to unseat him in the MVP race. Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson will have something to say about that, but it will be tough to keep up with Purdy’s statistical pace if he and Shanahan can keep the offense rolling like it is. Purdy also made some history on Monday night. He now has enough career attempts to qualify for the league’s historic passing charts, making him the NFL’s leader in career passer rating. The past two weeks have been one long humiliation ritual for the Commanders franchise. A week after giving away a win against the Giants, head coach Dan Quinn and Daniels teamed up for another situational blunder on fourth down. Not that it would have mattered: Washington got flagged for an illegal formation, and Daniels opted for a throwaway on fourth down with a wide-open Antonio Williams running across the middle. It’s unclear if anyone on the Commanders realized it was fourth down. Quinn signaled for the field-goal team to trot onto the field before he realized Washington had turned it over on downs. Quinn’s confusion in that spot is inexcusable. He’s not a play-calling head coach, so game management should always be top of mind. That clearly wasn’t the case then. And you’d think he’d be on high alert after last week’s debacle. Washington has other issues outside of game management. The Commanders' defense hasn’t performed well throughout Quinn’s tenure, which is a bad sign for a coach who made his name as a defensive mind. The front office has poured money into the defensive line, and it still can’t generate much pressure. Hiring Daronte Jones away from the Vikings staff hasn’t made much of a difference. Outside of rookie linebacker Sonny Styles, who flashed a few times on Monday night, it’s difficult to find any bright spots on Quinn’s defense. Quinn is bringing much to the table. His defense has been ineffective, the team’s young quarterback has regressed since his rookie season, and situational football has been an issue. Whatever goodwill Quinn built with the 2024 NFC title game run is now gone. It could be playoffs or bust for the veteran head coach. 3 ½. What’s Next? The 49ers will try to keep their perfect start rolling in Atlanta before a much-needed bye week. Games against the struggling Raiders and Cowboys follow the break, so San Francisco could be sitting at 9-0 when the Vikings visit in Week 11. It’s hard to see any defense slowing this offense before then, but facing a Brian Flores-coached unit should provide a true test. Washington may be down, but it’s not out of the NFC East race. That may not be the case in a few weeks, though. After their bye next week, the Commanders face a three-week stretch that includes games against the Eagles and Giants. If they lose those games, Washington can start looking forward to the offseason.]]>

<![CDATA[For most of the offseason and summer and heading into Week 1, the Los Angeles Rams were the top team in these rankings, and it was hard to envision a time when they’d fall out of the top 10. It turns out that time is now. And now it’s hard to figure out how they can claw their way back in. That’s been the wildest change here, other than the Cleveland Browns, who were ranked 31st after their Week 1 loss, and now are 4-2 and tied atop the AFC North. It’s just another sign that the NFL is wild and the swings can be even wilder. If you don’t believe me, just check out how my NFL Power Rankings shook out heading into Week 7. *Super Bowl odds courtesy of DraftKings Super Bowl odds: +100000 (tied for 31st-best) Hopefully the Dolphins enjoyed their bye week, because they return to action as the worst team in football (once again) and one of just two winless teams. Now the big question on their season becomes: Where can they get their first (and possibly only) win? Four games stand out as possibilities, including two against the Jets, one of which comes this Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Dolphins aren’t better than the Jets, but when has that really mattered? Also, they are running the ball well, averaging 126.6 rushing yards for the season. The Jets, meanwhile, are giving up 123 rushing yards per game. So maybe, just maybe, it’s the Dolphins’ time! Next game: @ Jets (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Dolphins are one of two winless teams remaining in the NFL after Week 6. Super Bowl odds: +100000 (tied for 31st-best) The Titans is so bad that they played one good half of football on Sunday and it prompted the Colts to fire GM Chris Ballard. And honestly, it wasn’t even that good of a half by the Titans. They gained 158 yards on five possessions, scoring one touchdown and settling for four field goals. Two of those field goals came on drives they started inside the Colts’ 33. Tennessee did force two third-quarter turnovers and returned a blocked punt for a TD, so give the club credit where it’s due. But the Titans had 186 total yards of offense and QB Cam Ward had yet another stinker (11 for 22, 102 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT). Next game: vs. Browns (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: Sunday's win against the Colts was the Titans first win since Week 16 of last season, snapping a seven-game losing streak. Super Bowl odds: +50000 (tied for 29th-best) It feels like the firing squad is lining up for offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel as the Chargers head into their bye week at 0-6, after another bad performance by QB Justin Herbert and after they failed to gain 350 yards for a sixth straight game. It’s just bad. It’s all bad. It’s so bad that it feels like if Jim Harbaugh does fire McDaniel, it’ll be a last-ditch effort to save his own job. And it’s so bad that it’s fair to wonder if the Chargers want to move on from Herbert — assuming he doesn’t try to move on from them first. Next game: BYE Stat To Know: The Chargers now have 14 giveaways this season, which is the most in the NFL. Justin Herbert is now the only QB since 2020 with an interception in each of the first six games of a season. Herbert leads the NFL with eight INTs this season. Super Bowl odds: +12500 (tied for 22nd-best) In three games without Baker Mayfield, the Buccaneers lost by a field goal to the Packers, beat the Cowboys in Dallas, and pushed the Steelers into overtime. That’s not nothing, but it’s not much in a season that is all but over at 1-5. Todd Bowles’ defense keeps them competitive — he’s always been a heck of a defensive coordinator — but his offense is crying out for a new direction. Bowles is no longer the odds-on favorite to be the first head coach fired. The Commanders’ Dan Quinn has taken over that spot. But the Week 10 bye sure looms large for Bowles. He may need to find a way to beat either the Panthers, the Falcons or the Bears before then to survive. Next game: @ Panthers (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Bucs’ last 12 games have all been decided by eight points or fewer, the longest such streak in franchise history. Super Bowl odds: +50000 (tied for 29th-best) Another week where the Jets play competitive football. Another week where they lose to a better team. Another week where Aaron Glenn has a head-scratching moment. This time it was his confusion in a halftime interview when he said his team was getting the ball to start the second half, but they actually weren’t. That’s not really a big deal in and of itself, but all this stuff keeps piling up in what looks like yet another lost season. The good news is it hasn’t turned ugly yet. You want to see ugly? Watch what happens Sunday if the Miami Dolphins show up at MetLife Stadium and beat the Jets. Next game: vs. Dolphins (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: Through Week 6, the Jets rank fifth in the NFL in yards allowed per play (4.80) and are tied for fifth in turnover margin (+4), with eight takeaways and four giveaways. Super Bowl odds: +12500 (tied for 22nd-best) Jayden Daniels looks closer to his old, magical self, but it all came too late to pull off the upset in San Francisco Monday night, and it might be too late to save the season in Washington. It might be too late for Dan Quinn too, since, for the second week in a row, his game management skills were exposed as … well, something. This time he was caught on camera seemingly surprised that the Commanders’ last play was a fourth-down play, as he tried to send the field goal unit on. Add that to last week’s clock disaster and Washington’s 1-4-1 record, and Quinn might not still be the Commanders coach anymore when they return from their bye. Next game: BYE Stat To Know: The Commanders have a 30.9% offensive success rate on third down, the second-lowest mark in the NFL ahead of only the Browns Super Bowl odds: +40000 (28th-best) I don’t care how much the Rams are struggling right now. This young, flawed Cardinals team going into Los Angeles and beating a much more talented team, and having to come from behind for a last-second field goal to do it, is seriously impressive. It doesn’t necessarily change my overall opinion of the Cards, nor does it alter their brutal schedule over the next seven weeks. But it’s a nice cornerstone win for new coach Mike LaFleur. That memory can keep him warm in late winter when he’s busy trying to figure out which quarterback he wants in the 2027 draft. Next game: vs. Broncos (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Cardinals won outright as 12.5-point underdogs, marking the largest upset by point spread this season and tying for the third-largest since 2023. Super Bowl odds: +3500 (16th-best) Well, at least the Cowboys’ defense finally looked good on Sunday night against the Packers. They even stopped the Green Bay rushing attack. But that’s two weeks in a row now that Dallas’ offense looked out of sync and failed to even hit 17 points. Dak Prescott is throwing for a lot of yards, but they’re mostly empty. And the Cowboys have run for a total of 98 yards over the past two games. They knew they had to fix their defensive problems. If they have to fix their offense, too, then they can forget this season. The Eagles, Cardinals and Colts are up next, so there’s an opportunity here. But honestly, does anyone have faith in the Cowboys anymore to actually get this right? Next game: @ Eagles (Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: Dak Prescott is now 1-6-1 against the Packers, including 0-2 in the playoffs, tied for the most losses Prescott has suffered against any single opponent in his career. Super Bowl odds: +15000 (25th-best) Kellen Moore held off what might have been his own Waterloo when his Saints held on by their fingernails to beat the Giants on Sunday. Before that, they had lost three straight, and that seemed to have Saints owner Gayle Benson fuming. Now they’ll all head to Paris for a game against the Steelers, feeling at least a little better about things. A win there would give them a nice boost heading into their bye week. But the way their defense nearly threw away the game against the Giants, I wouldn’t count on that. Next game: vs. Steelers (Sunday, 9:30 a.m. ET) Stat To Know: With the win vs. the Giants, this is the first time the Saints have defeated the same non-division opponent in four straight seasons since 1990-93 (Cardinals). Super Bowl odds: +12000 (tied for 20th-best) Owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon officially waved the white flag on the Colts’ season on Monday when she fired GM Chris Ballard. That’s a pretty clear signal that they’re heading for a rebuild and a new vision next season, which means coach Shane Steichen is probably next to go, and QB Daniel Jones shouldn’t get too comfortable either. Indy’s embarrassing loss to the Titans at home on Sunday said everything about where this team is headed. The Titans — yes, the previously winless Titans — scored on all five of their second-half possessions and added a touchdown on a blocked punt. Next game: @ Vikings (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Colts loss snapped their six-game winning streak against the Titans, which was previously their longest active streak against any opponent. Super Bowl odds: +20000 (tied for 26th-best) The Eagles' season took a dark and scary turn on Monday morning when it was revealed that QB Jalen Hurts had multiple blood clots in his lungs, ending his 2026 season. And though I’ve been saying it for weeks, that has to be the signal that this is now a rebuilding team. Anything that’s not tied down to a long and expensive contract must go as the Eagles restock for a run in 2027. Don’t worry about the bad division or their soft schedule or all the injured players who might soon get healthy. They’ve lost four straight and things aren’t going to turn around under backup QB Tanner McKee. GM Howie Roseman needs to keep his eyes on the prize, which is now the 2027 NFL Draft. Next game: vs. Cowboys (Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: This is the first time in franchise history that the Eagles have started 2-0 and then lost their next four games. Super Bowl odds: +12500 (tied for 22nd-best) The Giants are not a good team and they showed it for 48 minutes on Sunday, falling into a 34-10 hole at home against the Saints. Then QB J.J. McCarthy took over for Jameis Winston and nearly pulled off another Miracle at the Meadowlands. He didn’t, but he was impressive, throwing for 243 yards and a touchdown in his short time, and coming within inches of making the comeback complete. The Giants are in first place and might have a clear path to the NFC East title. But they’re still not good. And the injuries are piling up. Maybe they’ll get some more McCarthy Magic over the next few weeks. But honestly, the best thing that can be said about them is that the rest of the division is trash. Next game: @ Texans (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Giants got 50 rushing yards from their quarterbacks and wide receivers, but only got 34 rushing yards from their running backs in the loss to the Saints. Super Bowl odds: +7000 (18th-best) In fairness to the Falcons, they ran into a buzzsaw against the Bears on Sunday with Caleb Williams back. And they did kind of crawl back into the game at the end. I know they’ve lost two straight games now, both at home, but it was against two really good teams (the Ravens were the other). The Falcons’ hopes will probably get dashed next Sunday at home against the 49ers, but there’s no doubt that Kevin Stefanski has this team playing a heck of a lot better over the past month. He also looks like he found a franchise QB in Michael Penix Jr. So let that be a small consolation when Sunday comes and they fall to 2-5. Next game: vs. 49ers (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Falcons are 0-3 at home this season compared to 2-1 on the road. It’s their worst home start since 2020. Super Bowl odds: +3000 (tied for 14th-best) They’re baaaaaack! Everyone thought the Texans were dead at 0-4. … OK, I thought they were dead, but I wasn’t the only one. But they got right two weeks ago against the awful Titans and stayed right with a terrific 34-31 win in London against the Jaguars. C.J. Stroud finally looks like the franchise QB he was supposed to be. He has plenty of weapons, with the addition of WR Marvin Harrison Jr. But what happened to DeMeco Ryans’ defense? It’s not nearly as dominant as it once was. If the Texans can fix it, they’re a good bet to become the second-ever team to start 0-4 and make the playoffs. Next game: vs. Giants (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: Following today's win over the Jaguars, the Texans are now 7-1 in their last eight divisional games. Super Bowl odds: +9000 (19th-best) The Raiders are just way better than I thought they were. They had to drop in the rankings this week because they’ve lost three straight, including a humbling blowout in New England. But I haven’t lost sight of the fact that the Raiders’ other two were three-point losses were to the Chiefs and Bills. QB Kirk Cousins is playing great. HC Klint Kubiak has done a masterful job as head coach. If the Raiders could only get more out of RB Ashton Jeanty, they might have something really good there. Next game: vs. Rams (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Raiders have lost each of their last three games after starting the season 3-0, allowing over 30 points in all three losses. Super Bowl odds: +20000 (tied for 26th-best) Following a 13-10 win over the Lamar Jackson-less Ravens on Sunday, HC Todd Monken described his Browns like this: "Our guys are a scrappy group and they play their rear ends off for 60 minutes. And that will always give you a chance to win." The Browns don’t do a lot of things well, especially offensively. But they have a disruptive defense (19 sacks, second in the NFL) that keeps them hanging around. Then they have a knack for finding ways to win close games (all four of their wins were by four points or less). It’s been an amazing run, except for last week’s inexcusable loss to the Jets. That might be all that’s holding them back from being a top-10 team. Next game: @ Titans (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Browns are in first place in their division in Week 6 or later for the first time since Week 10 of the 2014 season. Super Bowl odds: +1200 (tied for fifth-best) I have now officially lost all faith in the Dream Team. I was willing to write their early struggles off to jet lag and a mostly brutal stretch of opponents in the first five weeks. But their hideous 18-16 loss to the Cardinals this past Sunday broke me. It might have broken the Rams, too. It definitely broke WR Davante Adams, who is now out 6-10 weeks with a ruptured hamstring. Sean McVay looks as lost and frustrated as I’ve ever seen him. And I don’t blame him. The Rams are ranked third in total offense and total defense, but they don’t seem to make big plays on either side of the ball. They look old or tired or maybe both. Mostly, they look very overrated. Next game: @ Raiders (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Rams are the fifth outright preseason Super Bowl favorite with a losing record through six games in the past 50 seasons. Super Bowl odds: +12000 (tied for 20th-best) I feel like I say this every week, but this is the most confusing team in the league for me. The Steelers look great, then they look terrible, and sometimes — like in their 26-19 overtime in Tampa on Sunday against the Baker Mayfield-less Bucs — they alternate between great and terrible within the same game. They were terrible for three quarters and trailed 16-3. But their defense kept them in it. Then Aaron Rodgers woke up a little. Then he went off in overtime (6 for 7, 51 yards and a TD). I don’t know. They’re 4-2, but the roller coaster is making me a little nauseous. Next game: vs. Saints (Sunday, 9:30 a.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Steelers have started 4-2 in four consecutive seasons. Super Bowl odds: +3000 (tied for 14th-best) OK, Mike LaFleur just did a nice job pulling himself out of the theoretical hot seat and putting the Packers back into the fire of the NFC North. The Packers are 4-2 and have won three straight games. Jordan Love and the offense has clicked in that span, and the defense has been excellent, too. So why are they ranked this low? Because they barely beat the Bucs, they beat the Bears without Caleb Williams and then beat the reeling Cowboys. They can’t do anything about the schedule, but let’s see how it goes at Detroit, vs. Carolina, at New England and vs. Minnesota in the month leading into their bye week before I put my cheesehead on. Next game: @ Lions (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: With their win over the Cowboys, the Packers improved to 21-4 (.840) all-time in Sunday night home games, the best winning percentage in NFL history. Super Bowl odds: +2500 (13th-best) Dan Campbell did not fire defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard during the bye week, which is interesting considering how bad Sheppard’s defense has been. The Lions are giving up an astonishing 404.4 yards per game, including three games (out of five) where the opponents topped 440 yards and 30 points. It’s a shame, really, because the Lions offense can run up the score on any team in the league, but the defense is going to kill them. Teams rarely last in the NFL when their only hope is to win 41-38 while praying they get the ball last. Next game: vs. Packers (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Lions rank second in the NFL behind only the Bills in both scoring drive percentage (53.8%) and points per drive (3.15), excluding kneel-downs. Super Bowl odds: +2100 (12th-best) Hopefully the Bengals spent their bye week fixing the recent issues with a run defense that gave up 466 yards on the ground over their last three games (including 217 to the Dolphins … yikes!). Because they’ll need that with games in Baltimore and Atlanta over the next three weeks, especially if Lamar Jackson is back for the Ravens. Other than those two games, though, their schedule really offers clear sailing until December. That gives QB Joe Burrow and WR Ja’Marr Chase a chance to get on the kind of roll we haven’t really seen from them yet. Next game: @ Ravens (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Bengals have converted 50% of their third-down attempts, ranking second in the NFL through six weeks. Super Bowl odds: +1800 (tied for ninth-best) Yawn! The Patriots beat the Jets. What else is new? But that’s three straight wins now for a team that was on the brink of disaster after Week 3. And more importantly, it was a third straight good game from QB Drake Maye. The turnaround is stunning. He averaged 195 passing yards and had one touchdown pass and six interceptions over the first three games. He’s since averaged 292.7 yards while tossing 10 touchdowns with just one interception. Maye may not get there because that terrible start could be an anchor, but he’s playing like an MVP contender again. Next game: @ Bears (Thursday, 8:15 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Patriots have won their first three home games in a season for the first time since 2019. Super Bowl odds: +4000 (17th-best) The Panthers have earned their spot in the top 10, even though their record is only 3-2. And it really has little to do with their narrow win over the Jalen Hurts-less Eagles on Sunday. They are just a really complete team. QB Bryce Young has been phenomenal, leading the NFL with 309.8 passing yards per game while throwing 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions. The Panthers’ defense has also looked a lot better after a disastrous showing in Week 1 versus the Bears. For those wondering, there’s still plenty of room on the bandwagon. Next game: vs. Buccaneers (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Panthers have scored 25-plus points in four of their five games this season, including over 30 three times. Super Bowl odds: +1000 (tied for fourth-best) The Ravens should have run away from the Browns this past Sunday, only to lose 13-10 on a last-second field goal. Baltimore obviously isn't the same team when Lamar Jackson is on the sideline. Backup QB Ty Huntley led an excellent, game-opening touchdown drive, but basically did nothing the rest of the game after that. It feels like Jackson is close to a return, and boy do they need him, because the Bengals, Bills and Jaguars are up next. Without their leader, the Ravens won’t survive that. Next game: vs. Bengals (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: Since 2025, the Ravens are 3-4 in divisional games after their loss to the Browns on Sunday. Super Bowl odds: +1300 (seventh-best) The Jaguars' offense is finally starting to click, but their 34-31 loss to the Texans in London should be a wake-up call that their defense isn’t everything they thought it was. Maybe they were just tired from a long couple of weeks in London, or maybe the Texans are just starting to roll. But even Houston’s disastrous running game managed to put up 114 yards on the Jags. The good news for them, though, is they have a really soft schedule coming out of the bye week, including games against the Colts and the Giants and two meetings with the Titans. So the Jags have a good chance to get back on their roll. Next game: BYE Stat To Know: The Jaguars have gone 23 straight games without allowing a 75-plus-yard rusher, tied for the third-longest streak since 1966. Only the 49ers have had longer streaks: 27 games from 2021-23 and 26 games from 1989-91. Super Bowl odds: +1200 (tied for fifth-best) Mike Macdonald seemed pretty ticked about his team’s performance last Thursday in Denver, but the Broncos tend to have that effect on opponents. Still, it was the Seahawks’ second straight loss and the defending champs are only 3-3, so maybe they don’t belong this high anymore? That record doesn’t do them justice, though. Their back-to-back losses were to the 49ers and the Broncos, and that’s a tough stretch for anybody. The real problem for Seattle is what’s next: home games against the Chiefs and the Bears. The Seahawks are heading for a tumble into a deep, dark hole if they can’t reassert themselves as championship material. Next game: vs. Chiefs (Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Seahawks’ defense leads the NFL in yards allowed per play (3.96) and ranks third in opponent third-down conversion rate (28%). Super Bowl odds: +1500 (eighth-best) It’s a big jump for a narrow win over the Atlanta Falcons, but this is all really about the return of Caleb Williams, who was phenomenal on Sunday, looked healthy, and led Chicago to a 31-7 lead before the defense almost threw it away. The Bears’ defense could be an issue, but for now they can celebrate in Chicago because a healthy Williams puts the dynamic Ben Johnson offense right back on track. It’s going to be a lot of fun in two weeks to see what the Bears can do in Seattle against one of the best defenses in the league. Next game: vs. Patriots (Thursday, 8:15 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: This is the first time the Bears have started 4-2 or better in three straight seasons since an eight-year streak from 1984-91. Super Bowl odds: +1800 (tied for ninth-best) I don’t know if their entry in the top five will finally make Vikings fans happy — or if anything I do actually can. Probably not, since they were off in Week 6 and only moved up because so many top-10 teams lost. Still, the Vikings are 5-0 and everyone in Minnesota thinks they belong at No. 1. But sorry, not with their pop-gun offense. Not yet. Maybe soon, if QB Kyler Murray continues what he started in Week 5 and generates more points on offense. If not, life for Minnesota will just be too hard the rest of the season, especially with six of its next seven opponents among the top half of the league in scoring. Next game: vs. Colts (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The Vikings are undefeated (3-0) in one-score games so far this season. Super Bowl odds: +2000 (11th-best) Every week I watch the Broncos and feel like I can’t justify having them this high in the rankings. The playcalling has been an obvious issue. Bo Nix looks like a mess at times. They can’t run the ball. The defense can’t stop the run. And yet … they win. And they have quality wins. Three of their four wins are against the Seahawks, the Jaguars and the Rams. And their losses are to the Chiefs and the 49ers, who might be the two best teams in football. Denver has run an impossible gauntlet to start the season and somehow survived. It honestly feels like it did last season when the Broncos never seemed like a powerhouse team, never looked particularly impressive, yet somehow ended up in the AFC Championship game. Maybe Sean Payton is just a wizard. Next game: @ Cardinals (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: Thursday night was the Broncos' first win with under 175 yards since 1983 at the Steelers, which was also John Elway's first start. Super Bowl odds: +750 (tied for second-best) It feels like every Bills game is exactly the same. Josh Allen is great. The running game, with Allen and RB James Cook, is great. Their defense is … not great. Their wins all feel like shootouts where they have to hang on, like they did against the Raiders in Week 6. They don’t get a lot of pressure (11 sacks on the season). They don’t create a lot of turnovers (6). They give up 386.8 yards and 28.5 points per game. It all feels unsustainable. And if they didn’t have Allen, it would be. They should think about that over their bye week. If they ever figure out their defensive problems, the Bills could be unstoppable. Next game: BYE Stat To Know: Joe Brady's 5-1 start is the best record through six games by any head coach in Buffalo Bills franchise history. Super Bowl odds: +750 (tied for second-best) Is it possible that the Chiefs are actually under the radar for most of the NFL? Or maybe we just all take their greatness for granted? But there sure isn’t a lot of chatter or hype about what might be the best team in the league. And Patrick Mahomes, just 10 months removed from tearing his ACL, is quietly on pace for his best season since 2022 — when he won league MVP and the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. Maybe Mahomes belongs in the early MVP conversation, too? The Chiefs play at Seattle and at Denver these next two weeks, so the noise about K.C. is about to get a lot louder. Next game: @ Seahawks (Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid joined Bill Belichick/Tom Brady, Tony Dungy/Peyton Manning and Bud Grant/Fran Tarkenton as the only head coach-quarterback duos in NFL history with at least three 5-0 starts. Super Bowl odds: +540 (best) The 49ers are held together at times by Band-Aids and gauze tape, but there’s no question they’re the best team in football a third of the way through the season. They need a rest, especially after WR Mike Evans reinjured his Achilles on Monday night, joining WR Deebo Samuel, WR Christian Kirk, edge rusher Nick Bosa and more on the sideline. But they’re so deep and so good, they can sleepwalk through wins — like they seemed to do at times in the second half Monday night when they nearly blew their game against the Commanders. Now they just have to get through Atlanta to hit their bye week undefeated and see if they can get some of their walking wounded back after that. Next game: @ Falcons (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET) Stat To Know: The 49ers are 6-0 for the second time under Kyle Shanahan. They last started 6-0 in 2019, when they reached the Super Bowl.]]>

The Brewers beat the Padres in four games in the divisional round (3-1), before sweeping the defending champion Dodgers in the NLCS (4-0). The Outlook: It all comes down to this. In the regular season, the Brewers had the best record in the National League (and overall), while Tampa Bay had the best record in the American League, meaning this is the matchup that baseball fans deserve. The two squads faced off three times this year, with the Brewers winning the regular-season series 2-1. The Brewers are looking to win their first-ever MLB title. They last made it to the World Series in 1982, falling to the Cardinals in seven games. However, that was so long ago that Milwaukee was an American League team. The Brew Crew will enter this year's championship series as the favorites and will have home-field advantage. As for the Rays, they lost to the Dodgers in the 2020 Fall Classic (4-2) and lost to the Phillies in the World Series in 2008 (4-1). What does that mean? It means either the city of Milwaukee or the city of Tampa Bay will celebrate an MLB title for the first time.]]>

Kansas City made it to the playoffs for 10 consecutive seasons between 2015 and 2024, but last year wasn't its year, as it finished the regular season 6-11 and shockingly missed the postseason. On top of that, Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL in Week 15. Well, all of that is a thing of the past, as the Chiefs are 5-0 this season, including 3-0 in the division, with wins over every team in the AFC West. And while Mahomes has been good through five games, it has been newly-acquired running back Kenneth Walker III who has been carrying the load. Walker III has rushed for 665 yards in five games, averaging 133 rushing yards per game. Over 17 games, that puts him on pace for 2,261 rushing yards, which would break Eric Dickerson’s NFL single-season record of 2,105 set in 1984. Walker is also averaging an NFL-best 6.3 yards per carry. Kansas City has second-best odds in the AFC to make the playoffs, only trailing the Bills. Texans Back?: Houston entered the season as one of the Super Bowl favorites, but an 0-4 start sent its playoff odds tumbling. The Texans have since bounced back with two straight wins, including a huge victory over the AFC South-favorite Jaguars in London. C.J. Stroud appears to be rediscovering his rookie-year form, ranking second in the NFL in passing yards with nine touchdowns and just one interception. If the defense can return to last season’s level, watch out. Needing A Charger: The Chargers entered the season among the favorites to win the AFC. Now, after an 0-6 start, they are in major danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in the Jim Harbaugh era. Los Angeles has now lost nine straight games dating back to Week 16 of 2025. The last time the Chargers started 0-6 was in 2000 when they started 0-11. During that season, Harbaugh was the starting quarterback. Justin Herbert is now the only QB since 2020 with an interception in each of the first six games of a season. Herbert leads the NFL with 8 interceptions, and the Chargers are now +4600 to make it to the playoffs. 49ers: -7000Vikings: -750Bears: -215Seahawks: -178Lions: -150Packers: -142Panthers: -140Rams: -120Cowboys: +104Giants: +200Falcons: +215Saints: +400Commanders: +460Eagles: +500Buccaneers: +570Cardinals: +3100 Last Year's Field: Seahawks (1), Bears (2), Eagles (3), Panthers (4), Rams (5), 49ers (6), Packers (7) Gold Rush: The 49ers are off to a 6-0 start, with wins over the Rams, Broncos and Seahawks. They are the first team since the 1981 Broncos to record three wins in their first five games against teams that reached a conference championship game the previous season. The 49ers are 6-0 for the second time under Kyle Shanahan. They last started 6-0 in 2019, when they reached the Super Bowl. Brock Purdy has impressed, throwing 14 touchdowns and just two interceptions through six games, and the 49ers defense might be the most improved unit in the entire league. Purdy now officially holds the highest career passer rating in NFL history (105.7). He reached the minimum of 1,500 pass attempts to qualify for the leaderboard in Monday's win over the Commanders. With the Niners strengthening their grip on the division and the entire NFC, their odds of making the playoffs shortened from -2500 to -7000. Biggest Surprises: The Rams entered the season as heavy Super Bowl favorites, but their first six weeks could not have gone much worse. L.A. is now 2-4 after losing at home as 12.5-point favorites to the Cardinals, the biggest upset of the season so far. Davante Adams is also now out for 6–10 weeks, and Myles Garrett remains on injured reserve. The last preseason Super Bowl favorite to miss the playoffs was New England in 2008. Despite the losing record, the Rams remain favored to make the postseason at -120. Meanwhile, the Eagles have lost four straight games, each seemingly more painful than the last. After a promising 2-0 start, Philadelphia has dropped its next four for the first time in franchise history. It’s also the Eagles’ first four-game losing streak since 2020. To make matters worse, Jalen Hurts will miss the rest of the regular season. Philly is now heavily favored to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2020.]]>

<![CDATA[Josh Allen did what?! The Bears are back?! And have the Rams and Chargers finally hit rock bottom?! As I do every Monday night, I’m here to break down the best and worst from the week's NFL action. Coming out of Week 6, let’s focus on plays, team developments and offenses: Josh Allen gives us constant reminders that he’s equal parts Superman and magician. Late in the third quarter of the Bills’ victory over the Raiders, Buffalo faced a third-and-long in the red zone. Allen dropped back, stepped up in the pocket, rolled to his left, juked a defender who tried to sack him from behind and, with four Raiders closing in on him, flipped (!) a 12-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Keon Coleman. Just an unbelievable play. The touchdown pass was the 258th of Allen's career, tying him with Hall of Famer Jim Kelly for the franchise record. And there are many more to come for the 30-year-old Allen. There’s nothing I can say about him that hasn’t already been said. On the shortlist of best quarterbacks on earth, Allen has shown time and time again that he can put the Bills on his shoulders. The former league MVP can kill a defense through the air or on the ground. He can overwhelm you with his rare strength and power as a quarterback or with the kind of creativity we saw Sunday against the Raiders. But this question persists: Does Allen finally have enough help around him to reach a Super Bowl? As the 5-1 Bills enter their bye week, they face concerns about their defense and receiver production. Buffalo ranks second-worst in total defense and 28th in points allowed, while none of its pass-catchers are averaging more than tight end Dalton Kincaid’s 52.5 receiving yards per game. Wideout DJ Moore, who’s missed two games due to injury, hasn’t been the WR1 that the Bills had hoped for when they gave up a second-round pick for him in March. The Bills are in great shape as the AFC’s No. 2 seed, but I’m not buying that they’re any more equipped to get over the Super Bowl hump. On a fourth-and-8 in plus territory trailing 15-9 to the Cardinals late in the fourth quarter, Rams coach Sean McVay called a screen pass for running back Kyren Williams. It didn’t work. Matthew Stafford’s pass was a bit behind Williams, who wouldn’t have had room to do much of anything even if he caught the pass because it was poorly blocked. But it was a baffling play call in the first place. In a got-to-have-it, fourth-and-long situation, why was the best choice to throw to a running back sitting behind the line of scrimmage? Yes, it was tough sledding in the pass game for the Rams, who had just one reception longer than 16 yards. But it seemed like a no-brainer scenario to trust your MVP quarterback to find something downfield. In many ways, McVay’s play call there has been a microcosm of the Rams' disappointing 2-4 season. Despite having all the coaching and personnel talent in the world, they’ve regressed just enough in multiple areas. McVay hasn’t been as sharp as usual. Stafford hasn’t been as sharp. The run game hasn’t been as sharp. Wide receiver Davante Adams will be out six-to-10 weeks with a hamstring injury. Special teams issues have lingered from last season. Star edge rusher Myles Garrett’s absence has hurt, but the defense’s lack of finish in the pass rush has been alarming as well. The Rams rank sixth in pressure rate, but tied for 27th in sacks. Their season isn’t over. But no team has a higher sense of urgency right now relative to preseason expectations. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, who missed the past three weeks with a hamstring injury, didn’t miss a beat in his return for Week 6. He completed 83.3% of his passes for 305 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions in Sunday’s win over the Falcons. After winning back-to-back games in the immediate aftermath of Williams’ injury, Chicago clearly started to miss him in a 31-7 whooping by the Packers in Week 5, a game in which backup quarterbacks Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum combined for four turnovers. So Williams’ return was a welcome sight for the Bears. Don’t sleep on Kyler Gordon being back in the lineup as well. The standout nickel corner began the year on the physically unable to perform list, and there were questions about his future with the team. But he made his season debut Sunday and had one of the best pass-rushing performances by a defensive back of all time: three sacks, three tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. The talk entering the season with the Bears was that they had a juggernaut offense. Truth is, they’re much more than that. Their defense relative to the rest of the league has actually been better than their offense (Chicago ranks sixth in points allowed, 12th in scoring). Of course, that’s been impacted by Williams’ absence. But if Gordon can stay healthy — he’s missed 19 games dating to the start of last season — he’s a force multiplier for an already solid defense. So Chicago has one of the NFL’s best overall teams. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who was placed on injured reserve last week due to a blood clot in his leg, has now been ruled out for the rest of the 2026 season after the discovery of multiple blood clots in his lungs. A joint statement between the Eagles and Hurts’ agent, Nicole Lynn, said the quarterback has deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli. He is said to be clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations but won’t be able to participate in any contact activities while on blood thinners for the foreseeable future. "Jalen’s prognosis is very good, and we expect a full recovery," the statement read, in part. "In the meantime, he will remain active around the team and continue to condition. More importantly, we anticipate that he will have no long-term effects." There are plenty of unanswered questions regarding the handling of Hurts’ condition, including the process that led to him playing and traveling for Week 5 in London, where he was initially diagnosed with superficial vein thrombosis in his left calf. But for the time being, Hurts’ health is the No. 1 priority. Football takes a back seat. The Texans aren’t getting the nod here just because they scored 34 points. It’s because they scored 34 points on the Jaguars’ defense, one of the very best in the league. Quarterback C.J. Stroud completed 70.6% of his passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns against one interception vs. Jacksonville. Six different Houston receivers had receptions of at least 10 yards, including two who had catches over 40 yards (Nico Collins, Jaylin Noel). Even the Texans’ inconsistent run game found success. Houston went over 100 rushing yards for just the second time this season — and did so against the Jaguars’ No. 1-rated run defense. The Texans had season-highs in points (34) and total yards (426) against the Jags, averaging 7.2 yards per play. If the Texans were better than 2-4, Stroud would probably be in the MVP conversation. Not leading it — Allen and Brock Purdy are a step above everyone else right now — but definitely a dark-horse candidate. He’s been that good. If Stroud can keep it up and Houston’s defense gets back to the level it played at last season, when it ranked first in yards allowed and second in opponent scoring, the Texans will have one of the scariest teams in the NFL. Even where things stand right now, with Houston riding a two-game winning streak after an 0-4 start, the Texans are a team to watch later this season. If you thought it couldn’t get any worse for the Chargers, they scored a season-low six points in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs. They only had 259 net yards of offense, their second-worst mark this season, and quarterback Justin Herbert’s nightmare season continued. He threw his league-high eighth interception, having thrown at least one pick in each of the Chargers’ six games this season. We already knew L.A.’s offense was broken under new OC Mike McDaniel. What we’re learning is that it may not be repairable. Herbert is a shell of himself, operating an offense that doesn’t fit him while having to play Superman with the team’s injury concerns on the offensive line and at wide receiver. Six games is a large enough sample size in the NFL for patience to wear out. The Chargers can’t come out of their bye week without having made a significant change on offense. Both McDaniel's and Jim Harbaugh’s job security should be in question. The Chargers are just the second team in NFL history to start 0-6 after winning 11 or more games in the previous season, according to NFL on FOX Research. Just one other NFL team is winless, the 0-5 Dolphins, who entered the season with nowhere near the expectations that the Chargers did. L.A. could be barreling toward a fire sale ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline and a rebuild this offseason.]]>

<![CDATA[Yandy Diaz said it would all end on Monday: The Rays would defeat the Guardians in Game 6 and advance to the World Series. He was right. Diaz made sure of that with the biggest swing of his life. Diaz, the franchise leader in postseason games played, launched a two-run home run off Hunter Gaddis in the eighth inning of the Rays’ 7-3 win over the Guardians, the final blow that sent Tampa Bay to the World Series. The Rays won the American League pennant for the first time since 2020. They have a date with the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night at American Family Field in Game 1 of the World Series. With the Rays and Brewers both going for their first ring in franchise history, this will be the first time since the Phillies and Royals met in the 1980 Fall Classic that MLB is guaranteed a first-time champion. Here are my takeaways: When Freddy Peralta is getting whiffs with his fastball at the top of the zone, it’s game over. Peralta kept climbing the ladder with his four-seamer, and the Guardians kept chasing. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt wanted his lineup to avoid going after Peralta’s high fastball so badly that he was "willing to go down looking at the top," he said. "I know it's way easier said than done, but I feel like if we strike out 27 times looking at the top of the zone tonight, we're going to probably win the game." Indeed, it was easier said than done. The Guardians swung at 25 of Peralta’s 53 fastballs, and he collected nine whiffs on those 25 attempts. Peralta held the Rays to one run in 5 1/3 innings, and it had to be encouraging for Tampa Bay to see that Peralta didn’t miss a beat after pitching on just one day of rest. After Tampa Bay clinched a spot in the postseason and won the AL East, the Rays informed Peralta and the rest of their pitching staff to be prepared to pitch out of the bullpen in October. Nobody knew what those relief appearances would look like, but Rays coaches wanted their starters to be ready for any scenario. That time came in Game 4 of the ALCS, when Peralta entered in the sixth inning and recorded two critical outs against Cleveland. He threw just nine pitches and allowed one walk, but he got the job done and earned his second career hold in the postseason. Rays manager Kevin Cash said Peralta could not have cared less about shifting into different roles. Particularly since, at the time, the right-handed veteran had only joined the Rays a month prior, Peralta’s team-first attitude was extremely appreciated by Tampa. "He's been as good as any pitcher in baseball in the month of September, backed up by the awards he got," Cash said on Monday. "And then in this postseason, it's been pretty dominating, the fastball change-up combination, commanding the fastball where it needs to be, and then the occasional dropping in some spin early on in counts or when bats lengthen out. But Freddy's pitching with a lot of confidence, rightfully so because he's been so good." Up until the seventh inning, the Rays offense had just five hits. They came on an 87-mph double, an 85-mph single, a 79-mph single, a 65-mph single and a bunt. So four soft hits plus one more on intentional soft contact to give the Rays a 3-1 lead through six innings. It was an uncomfortable lead, way too close to call, and Tampa Bay needed insurance runs just to be sure. Who else but their biggest bat answered the call? The baseball world had been waiting for Rays slugger Junior Caminero to bring his explosive power to the postseason all October. He hit 42 home runs in the regular season, the fourth-most in the majors behind only Kyle Schwarber (45), Pete Crow-Armstrong (45) and Pete Alonso (43), but that hadn’t translated to the playoffs against elite pitching staffs. Until now. In the seventh inning of Game 6, Caminero finally went yard for his first career postseason home run when he hit a two-run missile off Guardians right-hander Cade Smith, padding the Rays’ lead to 5-1. Smith, one of the most reliable arms out of Cleveland’s bullpen, tossed an 84 mph splitter way inside and belt-high to Caminero, who was all over it. Before rounding the bases, Caminero stopped, turned to his dugout and screamed in a display of pure euphoria. The Rays needed their biggest bat to show up, and now they’ll hope he can carry that power into the World Series. Five Cleveland pitchers combined to limit the Rays to three runs over six innings. Pitchers Shawn Armstrong (the Game 6 opener), Tim Herrin, Matt Festa, Joey Cantillo, and Daniel Espino all did their jobs in the do-or-die Game 6. Tampa Bay scratched out a few runs between the second and third inning, but the Rays were done scoring until their biggest bats broke out late in the game. So the Guardians’ pitching staff gave its lineup plenty of time and opportunity to wake up, put some runs on the board, and force a Game 7. Cleveland didn’t get on the board until the sixth inning, when Peralta ran out of gas and the Rays finally went to their bullpen. Tampa’s relievers were middle-of-the-pack in terms of their performance in the regular season, churning out a 3.99 bullpen ERA that ranked 14th in MLB. But the Rays bullpen also recorded the second-lowest walk rate (8.3%) in the majors this season. So, after dealing with Peralta’s high heat, the Guardians struggled to lock in and do much damage against Cash’s circle of trust in the bullpen — until southpaw Ian Seymour imploded. With the bases loaded in the eighth, Seymour forced in a pair of runs by walking Patrick Bailey and hitting Angel Martinez with a changeup. The Guardians relied on Seymour’s lack of command to trim their deficit to 5-3, underlining how important Caminero’s two-run home run was in the previous inning. Brayan Rocchio struck out with the bases loaded to end the mini-rally. Besides Tampa Bay’s brief implosion, Cleveland whimpered out of the postseason. Jose Ramirez went 0-for-4 in their final game. Outside of Chase DeLauter and Nathaniel Lowe, the rest of the Guardians lineup combined to go 3-for-25 in a pitiful showing that Guardians fans will wish they could forget.]]>

Hard-throwing right-hander Jacob Misirowski anchors a stellar starting rotation for the NL Central champions. The Miz is likely looking at an NL Cy Young award thanks to his 16-5 record, 1.80 ERA and 250 strikeouts. Their lineup has been one of the toughest to face thanks to Jackson Chourio (.291/.351/.487 in the regular season) and Jackson Chourio (.367 postseason batting average). Rays Road To The World Series In a down season for the American League, the Rays were one of the few squads to consistently show they would be a threat in the postseason. Tampa Bay finished with the AL's best record, winning the AL East and then taking out the New Yankees in the AL Division Series. After dispatching the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Championship Series, the Rays are looking to finally with the whole thing after previous World Series appearances in 2008 and 2020. The Rays will rely on their big bats of Junior Caminero (T-2nd with 37 homers and third with 101 RBI this season), Jonthan Aranda, and Yandy Diaz (3rd in a .293 batting average). Drew Rassmussen has been the staff ace with a 16-5 record and 2.67 ERA and .199 opponents batting average – all among the top five in the league.]]>

<![CDATA[49ers wide receiver Mike Evans has officially been ruled out of Monday night’s game against the Washington Commanders with an Achilies injury. Evans headed to the locker room in the second quarter after making a catch on second and 15 before walking gingerly off the field. Broadcast cameras caught Evans grabbing his left Achilles in the tunnel. He did not return to start the second half. Evans finished with three receptions for 94 yards in the first half. It’s the latest setback in an injury-plagued first season in the Bay Area for the 33-year-old. Evans dealt with a hip injury in Week 2, then suffered a rib strain against Arizona in Week 3 that knocked him out after halftime. He battled through the rib issue to play the following weeks, catching seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown in last week’s win over Seattle, but Achilles soreness kept him out of practice entirely this week, and he entered Monday night questionable. Evans has managed to play in every game for San Francisco so far despite the laundry list of injuries. It is a continuation of the injury concerns that disrupted his final seasons in Tampa Bay, where a hamstring strain and a broken collarbone limited him to eight games in 2025 and snapped his streak of 11 straight 1,000-yard seasons. The severity of Evans' injury was not immediately known.]]>

<![CDATA[Terry McLaurin was carted to the locker room in the first quarter of Monday night’s game at San Francisco, and the veteran receiver has officially been ruled out. The injury occurred away from the ball on a third and nine where Jayden Daniels was sacked by Osa Odighizuwa, with McLaurin buckling to the turf, unable to get back up under his own power. It’s a tough break for the 31-year-old in what was the first game since Week 1 that Jayden Daniels, McLaurin and Stefon Diggs had all been healthy at the same time. McLaurin caught his only target of the night for 27 yards before exiting the game. Several 49ers veterans came over to offer encouragement as McLaurin left the field. Rookie Antonio Williams and Treylon Burks are the most likely options to fill in behind Diggs for the rest of the game, and potentially beyond if the injury is serious. McLaurin, a third-round pick by Washington in 2019, has been the Commanders’ leading receiver for much of his career, hauling in 512 receptions, for 7,164 yards and 14 touchdowns. Washington trailed 13-3 at the end of the first quarter and is now trying to generate offense without its top receiver. The team has not yet provided further detail on the injury, and McLaurin’s status beyond tonight remains uncertain.]]>

<![CDATA[There are quarterback concerns in Austin after Texas suffered a second straight loss to an unranked opponent. After the Longhorns’ 27-24 loss to Florida, concerns have grown about quarterback Arch Manning and his job security as starter. With No. 7 Ole Miss coming to Austin this Saturday, coach Steve Sarkisian is running out of time if he wants to make a change. Three-time national champion coach and Big Noon Kickoff analyst Urban Meyer believes Manning’s grip on the job could be slipping, and he wouldn’t hesitate to turn to the backup if it gives Texas a better chance to win. "The final two drives against Ohio State, I finally sat down and said, ‘Wow. There’s Arch Manning. Here we go.’ And it’s been in reverse ever since," Meyer said on Monday’s edition of The Herd. Manning led the Longhorns to a thrilling 24-23 comeback win over then-No. 1 Ohio State in Week 2, which put Texas at No. 1 shortly after. After trailing nearly the entire game, the Texas offense put together three consecutive scoring drives to upset the Buckeyes. Manning completed 23-of-27 passes for 198 yards, one touchdown and one interception to cap off the day. Since the heroic win over the Buckeyes, Texas sits 1-2 in SEC play, defeating Tennessee 20-17 and falling to Oklahoma and Florida by identical scores, 27-24. Aside from the upset and now the Longhorns' second straight loss, Meyer noticed that Manning's presence and playing style had shifted. "I see the unsettled feet. I see a lack of confidence. You saw a change that the Wolverines made, and it was instant. The team's excitement and enthusiasm picked up," Meyer said. Meyer was referencing Michigan’s quarterback switch on Saturday. After a scoreless first half against Penn State, coach Kyle Whittingham benched starter Bryce Underwood for backup Tommy Carr at halftime. After a scoreless first half with Underwood, Carr came in and led the Wolverines to a 21-18 win over the Nittany Lions. Now, if Texas had to decide to bench Manning before facing Ole Miss, Meyer wouldn't count out the option. "If the backup can help you win, I’d think about it."]]>

<![CDATA[I played offensive line for eight seasons in the NFL, and before that I spent my Saturdays in Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon, blocking for guys who ended up on lists like this one. So when I watch college football now, I watch for the stuff that signaled to me in the huddle whether a guy was for real. I'm picking the 10 players who impressed me most during the previous weekend. Not just the gaudiest stat lines, but the performances that hold up when you turn the tape on. Some weeks, that'll be a quarterback carving up a defense. Other weeks, it'll be a lineman you've never heard of who didn't lose a rep all afternoon. I have a soft spot for those guys. Week 7 gave us plenty. Let's get into it. Bear Bachmeier led BYU to a histroric upset win against Notre Dame this weekend. He threw for 224 yards with a touchdown and interception but what he added on the ground can’t be overlooked. The sophomore signcall caller had 13 rushing attempts for 45 yards and two touchdowns, including an opening drive run that set the tone for BYU’s offensive performance against the Irish defense. Texas Tech dominated Arizona State this weekend. They beat the Sun Devils by almost 30 points and Williams' rushing ability helped the offense produce these points. He had only 11 carries but rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns. The rushing scorers were both explosive runs. The first went 62 yards and the second went 38. This was the best weekend the Tech offense has had all season. Weigman was so good on Saturday night as the Cougars took another step towards a Big 12 title game appearance. He was 24 of 33 for 343 yards and five touchdowns through the air. He also added 11 carries for 52 yards. Just an all-time gritty performance when it was needed the most. Elijah Brown made his first start as Washington's quarterback after Demond Williams was injured for their game against Purdue. He was absolutely wonderful on Friday night, throwing 21 completions on 27 pass attempts for 302 yards and three touchdowns. He did throw three interceptions but played well enough for them to win. The Vols defense was stout and disruptive against Alabama Saturday afternoon. Bama’s offense is high-powered machine, but it wasn’t against these Vols defensive lineman. Both Telander and Weathersby had two sacks, accounting for 80% of the team's sack production. Burgess Jr. had 24 carries for 224 yards against Colorado State on Friday night. He also caught three passes for 52 yards. He is another fantastic performance away from 1000 yards, which is always an incredible feat in FBS play. The Army offense scored 56 points with 481 yards against Florida Atlantic this weekend, and Army’s QB was at the forefront of the production. I love watching his offense work to score points. Hellums had 25 carries for 195 yards and five touchdowns. Just remarkable. Toney literally did it all in a double overtime win for the Canes in a rivalry game. He finished with 11 catches for 154 yards, two receiving scores, two rushes for 31 yards, and he also completed a pass on a massive two-point conversion for Miami. He might be the most dynamic player in college football. Robinson was a massive game-breaker for the Noles, finishing with five catches for 113 yards and two scores. His most impressive play was a 75-yard bomb to tie the game at 28 apiece with just 239 left in the game. While Florida State couldn't pull off the upset, this kid shined brightly all night. James Madison has had three coaches in the last four years, but that hasn't mattered when looking at their consistency. After a 12-2 season under Bob Chesney last year, Billy Napier currently has them at 7-0. Much of that has to do with George Pettaway, who rushed for 119 against Georgia State— his fourth straight game with over 100 yards rushing. He currently ranks eighth in FBS, with 767 on the year.]]>

<![CDATA[The opportunity to turn five bucks into six figures doesn’t come around very often. Pretty much never, to be precise. In a wild weekend of college football and NFL betting, a Hard Rock Bet customer recognized that fact and instead settled for turning $5 into more than $30,000. More on that stunning wager, along with a nearly half-million-dollar bet that connected, plus an incredible long-shot NFL parlay that banked more than $200,000. This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX Sports may be compensated. Read more about Sports Betting on FOX Sports. From the noon ET kickoffs right through the prime-time games, college football Week 7 odds saw carnage for the favorites. By now, you probably all know, so here’s the abridged list: One bettor stunningly called all those upsets on a $5 moneyline parlay. But the Hard Rock customer also included Boston College moneyline vs. Pittsburgh and Florida State moneyline vs. Miami. Outright wins from all six teams would’ve netted $119,524. BC indeed got there, knocking off visiting Pitt 27-21. But Florida State, despite a valiant effort as a 20.5-point road underdog, lost 43-35 in double overtime. However, at 9:40 p.m. ET Saturday night, ostensibly midway through the Florida State-Miami and Notre Dame-BYU games, a prescient decision was made. With four of six legs already in, the bettor took a cashout option of $31,056.83. By night’s end, BYU got there, but Florida State did not. If the bettor held onto the ticket, then that $5 becomes nothing. Instead, the customer got massive ROI of 6,200x. Not a bad Saturday's worth of work. From Weeks 3-5, the Bears didn’t have QB Caleb Williams, while he recovered from a hamstring injury. Williams returned in Week 6 against the Falcons. Granted, Williams could’ve been a bit rusty from the layoff. But a DraftKings Sportsbook customer had full faith and credit in Chicago’s signal-caller. The bettor put an eye-popping $465,000 on Bears moneyline -115, just needing Chicago to win by any margin. Williams then went out and had an excellent day. He completed his first dozen passes to help the Bears to a 14-0 lead, and that cushion eventually stretched to 31-7. Williams finished 30 of 36 passing with one TD pass, as Chicago held off Atlanta 31-23. The profit on that major wager was $404,364, for a total payout of $869,364. At Caesars Sports, a customer hit on an absolute lottery ticket in Sunday’s NFL. The bettor put $66 on an 18-leg player prop parlay, with every leg tied to either receptions or receiving yards. Two legs were voided based on injury protection that Caesars offers on such wagers. Still, the other 16 legs all got through. And at absolutely insane odds of approximately +307831, or in slightly easier-to-digest terms, just beyond 3078/1. That transformed $66 into a massive windfall of $203,169. The full list, from Caesars’ post on X: Also at Caesars: It’s one thing to bet on big underdogs pregame. It’s quite another to take them when they’re sizable ‘dogs during the game. That didn’t deter one bettor from crafting a three-team moneyline ‘dog parlay during Sunday’s early slate of NFL games. The Browns, Steelers and winless Titans were all down double-digits in the first half of their games. Still, the customer decided to drop $375 on this in-game ticket: Cleveland came back to win 13-10 on a final-second field goal. Pittsburgh rallied to tie the game at 19 and force overtime, then won 26-19. And Tennessee had a 20-point fourth quarter, including a blocked punt for a touchdown, to upset Indianapolis 26-20. And that’s how you fortuitously turn $375 into $76,540. From an ROI standpoint, it’s hard to do better than this: A Polymarket Sports customer put $690 on wideout Matthew Golden scoring the first TD in the Packers’ game vs. the Cowboys. The price on that trade was 5%, which correlates to odds of about +1900. With 4:43 left in the first quarter, Golden caught a 9-yard pass from Jordan Love to put the Packers up 7-0. And the trader banked $13,110 in profit (total payout $13,800). On the flip side, a Novig customer put $82,939 on the Falcons to beat the Bears, at a price of 48.5% (+106). By the fourth quarter, Atlanta was in a 31-7 hole. The Falcons rallied but came up short, losing 31-23. So that’s a high-five-figure loser. For Thursday’s Seahawks-Broncos game, a Polymarket trader put $5,548.96 on Seattle running back George Holani to score a touchdown. It was a good sweat, stretching into the final six minutes of regulation, but Holani found the end zone. At a price of 16% (+525), the customer profited $29,132.04 (total payout $34,681). How about a more relatable bet amount? Like, say, $3. At Fanatics Sportsbook, a customer with three dollars and a modest dream put together a three-leg player-prop parlay on the Texans-Jaguars game in London. The first leg was the key, with Texans tight end Foster Moreau a healthy +9000 (90/1) to score two or more touchdowns Sunday. Moreau then scored the game’s first TD, with 5:13 left in the first quarter and added a second in the waning seconds of the first half. That clinched the second leg of the parlay, too, which was C.J. Stroud to have two or more TD passes. Harrison finished with 34 receiving yards on three receptions. At odds of +16500 (165/1), the bettor’s three bucks turned into $498. Notwithstanding the aforementioned six-leg upset-special parlay, there weren’t many people willing to put parlay money on the monumental upsets that unfolded Saturday. "I can’t say that we had any four-team parlay tickets with Tennessee-Florida-BYU-Auburn moneyline floating around," Borgata Sports sportsbook director Tom Gable said. But if you’d put $10 on the combination of: Then, at huge odds of +73155 (about 732/1), that parlay would’ve netted $7,315.50. And in the Missed It By That Much Department: At Hard Rock Bet, a customer piled up seven college football underdogs on a $58 parlay. Six legs delivered: However, Mississippi State — the biggest underdog of the batch at +650, vs. LSU — got dunked on 31-0. If the Bulldogs had joined the upset brigade, then the customer would’ve won a whopping $673,649. It’s not all about making big bets or cashing out huge on a 10-leg parlay. Which, to be clear, is rare. Sometimes, it’s about putting 10 bucks on a single straight bet, backing a long shot or semi-long shot and getting a solid return on investment. For example, at DraftKings, the aforementioned Moreau was an even bigger long shot to score two touchdowns, at +14000 (140/1). Putting $10 bucks on that would have you sitting on $1,400 profit today. At FanDuel Sports, Moreau was +4500 in the First TD Scorer market. A tenner there would’ve paid out $450. Also at FanDuel, Jags defensive back/wideout Travis Hunter was +1900 to score a touchdown. Early in the fourth quarter, Hunter collected a 7-yard TD pass from Trevor Lawrence. That’s $190 profit on a $10 bet. Or how about calling out an upset? At FanDuel, Auburn was a +860 moneyline underdog vs. No. 1 Georgia. As noted above, the Tigers pulled off a shocking 27-24 road upset. A $10 bet would’ve profited $86. Not an eye-popping amount, but a nice win to be sure. And if you got frisky and put $100 on Auburn, then the payday would be $860. The biggest reported bet on either NFL Week 6 odds or college football Week 7 odds was the above $465,000 on the Bears. But a couple of major wagers landed on the final game of NFL Week 5, a thrilling showdown between the Bills and Rams last Monday night. A DraftKings Sports customer plunked down $200,000 on Rams moneyline -175. And at Caesars Sports, a bettor put $102,000 on Rams -3.5. Those proved to be big donations to the house, as Buffalo pulled off a 37-34 overtime victory. Other notable major wagers: Per usual, keep in mind that these high-rolling customers not only have the means to make big bets, but the ability to absorb big losses. All of us average Joes and Janes cannot do that. Keep your bet size and expectations reasonable. Never bet more than you can afford to lose.]]>

<![CDATA[Welcome to The Plays that Stood Out, where we take a deep dive into the moments that shaped the past week of NFL games and try to figure out what they could mean for the teams and players going forward. This week, we’re looking at how the Rams blew a late lead to Arizona, exposing a long-standing problem. We’ll give the Packers defense its flowers after putting Dak Prescott through the wringer on Sunday night. We’ll also break down the small detail that helped the Texans steal a key AFC South game. Alright, now it’s officially time to panic. After Sunday’s shocking loss to the Cardinals, the Rams are last in the NFC West and would need to leapfrog four teams to sneak into the playoffs as the last seed. Forget the whole "super team" thing; at this rate, Los Angeles will have to fight just to make the postseason. The loss to Arizona was especially troubling. Sean McVay said there were no positives to take from the game, and I’m inclined to agree. The offense is getting worse every week, and Matthew Stafford isn’t beating the "washed up" allegations. Even if you want to give McVay and Stafford the benefit of the doubt, the defense still has holes that getting Myles Garrett back on the field won't patch—unless the Rams plan to deploy him at middle linebacker or safety. L.A.’s defense is weak up the spine, and the Cardinals exploited it on the play that essentially won them the game. After a vintage Stafford two-minute drill gave the Rams a late one-point lead, Arizona had 47 seconds to gain about 40 yards and get into field-goal range. Jacoby Brissett needed only one play to do it. A facemask penalty added 15 yards to Jalen Brooks' 21-yard reception, and in an instant, the Cardinals had the ball at the Los Angeles 29-yard line. I don’t want to take anything away from Brissett, who made a great throw to get his team into field goal range, but the defense offered little resistance. Take a look at the wide angle when Brissett hits the back of his drop. With the safeties retreating back like it’s a Hail Mary situation, there is A LOT of air in the coverage. Per Next Gen Stats, there’s a 12.1-yard gap between safety Kam Curl and nickelback Quentin Lake, and a 13.6-yard gap separates Kamren Kinchens and linebacker Nate Landman. That leaves acres of space for Brooks to run into. With Landman’s hips turned toward the right sideline, Brissett can make the throw without worrying about the Rams linebacker making a play on the ball. These soft zone coverages seem to be defensive coordinator Chris Shula's default strategy whenever the Rams need a stop in obvious passing situations. It’s not a bad strategy in a vacuum, but Los Angeles doesn’t have safeties or linebackers who can close those windows quickly enough to make it work. Brooks made what should have been a tough, contested catch with little resistance. These crunch-time defensive breakdowns have become routine for the Rams over the past couple of years, since the team adopted this shell coverage philosophy. Since 2022, they rank dead last in stop rate on "clutch drives," per YUNO Sports. This was the most shocking result of the day, but nobody should have been surprised at how it ended. The takeaway: The Rams can’t bank on Garrett’s return to solve all their issues. General manager Les Snead should be working the phones, asking about linebackers and safeties who can solidify the middle of the defense. With three weeks left before the NFL trade deadline, he still has time to swing a deal or two. And with teams starting to fall out of the playoff race—including the one the Rams share a stadium with—plenty of suitors should be willing to pick up the phone. If Snead can’t find reinforcements, a change in defensive philosophy may be in order. Dak Prescott put up a stinker on Sunday night, but Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon deserves the bulk of the credit for crossing his wires all night. Prescott is one of the NFL’s sharpest quarterbacks before and after the snap, but Gannon threw some looks at him that would have left Tom Brady and Peyton Manning scratching their heads. The red-zone interception early in the second quarter was the shining example and set the tone for the rest of the evening. Green Bay starts with seven defenders crowding the line of scrimmage. The Cowboys run a "levels" concept that looks promising before the snap. With only two defenders over three receivers, it looks like CeeDee Lamb will have to beat the deep safety inside to get open for the touchdown. Evan Williams, the other safety, is on the line to the offense’s left, so he surely wouldn’t be tasked with helping on Lamb’s route, right? Welp, that’s exactly what Gannon asked him to do. That’s a diabolical defensive call. Prescott sees Williams bail at the snap and assumes the Packers are playing Cover 2, with the safety dropping to the deep half. That would have left the deep middle vacant for Lamb's route. But the Packers are playing a form of "Quarters" where the backside safety will "poach" any deep over route by the No. 3 receiver (Lamb in this case), leaving the cornerback on that side locked in one-on-one coverage. These "poach" coverages are becoming more common, but you rarely see them run out of that kind of pre-snap look. Gannon threw a nasty curveball at Prescott. The takeaway: I dismissed the Packers as a playoff contender after that ugly Thursday night showing against the Falcons, but I’m willing to take the L on that opinion. Jordan Love is playing his way into the MVP conversation, and Gannon has the defense punching well above its weight thanks to his X’s and O’s. With Micah Parsons back in a few weeks, the unit could reach another level down the stretch. C.J. Stroud has had to drag the Texans offense to competence all season, but on at least one play on Sunday, his job was pretty darn easy. Fortunately for Houston, it was the play that won the game: Woody Marks’ 19-yard catch-and-run that got the Texans into range for Ka'imi Fairbairn’s game-winning kick. No Jaguars defender was within five yards of Marks, and while it’s easy to blame crappy defense, I’m giving most of the credit to the Texans. Specifically, Marks, whose little jab step at the start of the play created the confusion that left him wide open. The Jaguars were playing a specific form of man coverage where the two linebackers worked in tandem to cover the running back. If Marks goes right, the linebacker to that side picks him up in man coverage; if he goes left, the linebacker to that side takes him. Marks ends up going right, leaving Foyesade Oluokun responsible for the coverage. But the former Yale Bulldog processes the play too quickly. He sees Marks take his first step left and shifts his eyes to his next key. By the time Marks takes his first step to the right, Oluokun is looking the other way. You can see Branson Combs pass Marks off to Oluokun, but he’s already got his eyes on Jaylin Noel. Combs realizes what’s going on, but Houston’s play design creates too much traffic for him to navigate, leaving Marks wide open in the flat. It’s easier to parse through everything frame by frame, but watching it in real time shows how quickly NFL defenders have to process information. One little slip-up can cost you a game. The takeaway: I’m still holding onto my Texans stock after their woeful start to the season, and I suggest you do the same. Stroud is playing the best football of his career, and he is finally getting some help. Wide receiver Nico Collins’ return from injury has given him a go-to guy in obvious passing situations, and second-year offensive coordinator Nick Caley is showing promise as a play-caller after an up-and-down 2025 campaign. Caley still needs to figure out the run game, but he’s giving Stroud answers against whatever defenses throw at him. The play that sprung Marks open was just the latest example. If head coach Demeco Ryans’ defense holds up, the Texans will climb back into the AFC South race. 1. The Ravens offense is predictably struggling without Lamar Jackson, but I’ve still been impressed with Declan Doyle’s creativity. Even in the low-scoring loss to Cleveland, the first-year offensive coordinator impressed with two wildly creative calls. This red-zone formation shift left the Browns defense scrambling. Doyle wasn’t finished. Later in the game, the Ravens ran a play I have never seen before. Doyle had tight end Josh Cuevas line up at left guard. Cuevas was an eligible receiver, but the Browns didn’t have time to sort out their assignments, leaving him wide open for a big gain. 2. Not to be outdone by his former assistant Doyle, Ben Johnson broke out the strangest pre-snap motion I’ve ever seen. Tackle Theo Benedet did jumping jacks as he shifted to the other side of the formation, then Caleb Williams ran a successful QB sneak. Johnson also had receiver Zavion Thomas run a jet motion to add another layer of distraction. This is the type of play you’d draw up on the playground in grade school, but you can’t argue with the result. 3. I don’t have words to describe what Josh Allen did on this third-quarter touchdown pass in Buffalo’s win in Las Vegas on Sunday, so let's just watch the clip. This is why the Bills coaching staff puts up with Allen’s silly mistakes and the "arm punts." His creativity is a net positive for the offense. As long as he keeps pulling plays like this out of his you-know-what, defenses will have to respect it, which makes it easier for his teammates. Look at how much attention Allen commands once he goes into scramble mode.]]>

Betr also includes a Refer-a-Friend program, rewarding both new and existing users with bonus funds once the new user makes a deposit and joins contests. Betr DFS Contest & Game Variety Betr takes a simpler, more streamlined approach to contest variety compared to the giants of DFS. Its focus is on straightforward Pick’em-style games, where users select player outcomes across multiple sports and combine them into entries with tiered payouts. While Betr doesn’t yet have the same contest depth as DraftKings or Underdog, it leans heavily into accessibility — contests are designed to be fast, easy to understand, and low-barrier to entry, making it a strong option for new DFS players. The app also introduces frequent promotional contests and free-to-play events, tied to marquee sporting events like the Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs, or March Madness. As Betr continues to expand, it’s carving out a niche for users who want quick, rewarding DFS gameplay without the complexity of salary caps or massive multi-entry tournaments. Betr App User Reviews Our Take On The Betr DFS App: Great for New Players Looking for Value Betr stands out as a beginner-friendly DFS platform with a strong focus on promotions and accessibility. The combination of two No Sweat Entries plus a $200 deposit match makes it one of the most valuable entry points in DFS today. While its contest depth is still growing compared to giants like DraftKings, Betr is an excellent option for players seeking simplicity, steady promos, and an easy way to get started. Sleeper Daily Fantasy App Sleeper has built its reputation as one of the most community-driven DFS apps, combining fantasy gameplay with strong social features. Originally known for its season-long fantasy leagues, Sleeper has successfully expanded into daily fantasy by emphasizing Pick’em contests and an engaging, chat-friendly interface. Sleeper DFS Welcome Offer Sleeper Fantasy User Experience Sleeper’s app is designed with community engagement at its core, blending DFS gameplay with integrated social features. Performance is fast and stable on both iOS and Android, and the ability to track contests while interacting with others sets Sleeper apart from competitors. Push notifications highlight contest updates, promotions, and league interactions, ensuring users stay plugged into both their entries and their community. Sleeper DFS Promotions & Ongoing Offers Sleeper consistently rewards its users with deposit match reloads, targeted boosts, and seasonal offers tied to major sports calendars. The platform also introduces creative promotions during events like NFL Kickoff, March Madness, and NBA Playoffs, giving players a reason to stay engaged beyond the standard contests. Its Refer-a-Friend program encourages organic growth, with both parties receiving bonus funds once the referral signs up and makes a deposit. This steady mix of rewards keeps Sleeper competitive with larger DFS platforms while reinforcing its social-first approach. Sleeper DFS Contest & Game Variety Sleeper focuses primarily on Pick’em-style contests, where users predict player outcomes across different sports and combine them into entries for tiered payouts. The app also leverages its legacy in season-long leagues, offering Best Ball-style contests for players who prefer longer-term engagement. While its contest depth is narrower than DraftKings, Sleeper differentiates itself through its social integration. Players can build entries while chatting in real time, join public or private groups, and even run fantasy contests within their own communities. This blend of DFS and social networking makes Sleeper unique in the market. Sleeper Daily Fantasy App User Reviews Our Take On The Sleeper DFS App: Best for Social Players Sleeper shines as the go-to DFS app for players who value community and interaction. Its Pick’em contests are straightforward and rewarding, but the real draw is its integrated chat and league features that turn DFS into a social experience. Add in a solid $100 deposit match and ongoing promos, and Sleeper is a strong choice for anyone who wants DFS to feel more connected and community-driven. Chalkboard Daily Fantasy App Chalkboard is one of the newest entrants in the DFS space, carving out a niche by combining fantasy contests with community-driven features. The app is built around group play and conversation, making it feel more like a social hub than a traditional sportsbook-style platform. With a simple welcome offer and a focus on Pick’em contests, Chalkboard is quickly gaining traction with casual players looking for something fresh and interactive. Chalkboard DFS Welcome Offer Chalkboard Fantasy User Experience Chalkboard’s app emphasizes social interaction and group play, with built-in features that allow players to chat, strategize, and celebrate wins together. Chalkboard DFS Promotions & Ongoing Offers Chalkboard regularly offers deposit matches, reload bonuses, and free square promotions that add extra value for both new and existing users. Event-based promos are a major draw, with special offers around marquee moments like the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, or March Madness. Its promotions lean into the community-driven design — groups often get unique offers or bonuses for participating together, creating incentives to invite friends and build private leagues. A Refer-a-Friend program is also available, giving users extra bonus cash when new members sign up and start playing. Chalkboard DFS Contest & Game Variety Chalkboard’s primary focus is Pick’em contests, where users select player outcomes across multiple sports. These contests are designed to be approachable, with tiered payouts that reward accuracy and creativity. The app also experiments with community-driven contests, where groups can set up private pools, track leaderboards, and engage in side competitions. While Chalkboard doesn’t yet have the deep contest menu of DraftKings or Underdog, it’s leaning heavily on innovation in social play, positioning itself as a DFS platform that blends gaming with group dynamics. Chalkboard App User Reviews Our Take On The Chalkboard DFS App: DFS With a Social Twist Chalkboard stands out by making DFS feel more like a community event than a solo experience. Its Pick’em contests are beginner-friendly and rewarding, while the integrated chat and group features give players a reason to return beyond just placing entries. With a 100% deposit match, free square, and consistent promos, Chalkboard is a smart option for anyone who wants DFS to feel more interactive and social. Top-Ranked DFS Apps by App Ratings & User Reviews When it comes to choosing a daily fantasy platform, user experience matters just as much as promotions or contest variety. Below are the highest-rated DFS platforms based on user feedback and overall app performance. How to Choose the Best DFS App No single daily fantasy app does everything best. Many users enjoy using both, but DFS apps offer a unique blend of accessibility and creativity. Where is Underdog Legal? Underdog Fantasy Review 2026 Underdog Fantasy has rapidly become one of the most popular daily fantasy sports apps in the United States, offering a fresh alternative to traditional DFS platforms. The app centers around fantasy pick'em contests, snake drafts, and best ball formats, creating a streamlined experience that appeals to both casual players and dedicated fantasy fans. With simple gameplay, generous promotions, and a mobile-first design, Underdog has carved out a strong niche in the DFS market. This 2026 review will take a closer look at the platform's usability, app performance, contest variety, promotions, payment options, and customer support to give you a clear picture of what to expect. Underdog User Experience and Interface Underdog Fantasy delivers a clean, mobile-first experience that sets it apart from the darker, casino-style designs of many sportsbooks. The app features a bright, modern aesthetic with intuitive navigation tabs for Pick'em, Drafts, Contests, and Account. Building entries is straightforward: players can tap on lines, choose between flex or power play, and confirm their entry with a single click. The drafting interface for Best Ball contests is particularly well designed, allowing users to draft in real time directly from their mobile device. Performance is generally smooth with quick load times, though there can be occasional lag during high-traffic moments like NFL Sundays. Overall, the platform is highly user-friendly and optimized for quick, seamless play. Underdog Mobile App Review The Underdog mobile app is built for speed and convenience, offering fast and reliable payment integrations through PayPal, credit and debit cards, Venmo, and Apple Pay. The contest lobby updates in real time, allowing users to see the latest pick'em lines and draft entries as they become available. Notifications keep players informed about contest results, winnings, and new promotions. A secure wallet system clearly tracks deposits, entries, and winnings, giving users full visibility into their funds. Overall, Underdog offers one of the smoothest and highest-rated DFS app experiences in the U.S. Underdog Contest Variety and Market Depth Underdog Fantasy offers a strong mix of contest types and market depth that appeal to a wide range of players. Pick'em contests are the centerpiece, allowing users to select two to five player stat lines, higher or lower, with payout multipliers that increase based on the number of picks in each entry. Best Ball drafts have become a fan favorite, especially for NFL season-long play, where users draft once and Underdog automatically sets the optimal lineup each week. For those who prefer shorter commitments, daily and weekly drafts are available across major sports like the NBA, MLB, and NFL. The platform also supports private contests, making it easy to create and join friends' leagues. Underdog Payout Competitiveness Underdog Fantasy keeps payouts simple and transparent through standardized multipliers for its pick'em contests. Two picks pay out at 3x, three picks at 6x, four picks at 10x, and five picks at 20x. This fixed structure makes it easy for players to understand potential returns without worrying about changing odds or complex pricing models. Draft contests and Best Ball formats use prize pools, with winnings determined by the number of entries and final placement. Unlike traditional sportsbooks such as FanDuel or DraftKings, Underdog doesn't factor in juice or variable odds; payouts are fixed, shifting the focus toward smart player selection rather than line shopping. Betting Features and Innovation Underdog Fantasy distinguishes itself with a mix of innovative features that enhance both flexibility and engagement. The insurance option through Flex pick'em entries gives players a safety net, offering reduced payouts if one leg misses and lowering overall risk. Its Best Ball format has become a signature offering, with Underdog emerging as the clear leader in season-long fantasy drafts. Player pick props are updated throughout the day across multiple sports, ensuring fresh opportunities for action. The platform also uses a simple wallet system, keeping entries and withdrawals in one place. Combined with private drafts, influencer collaborations, and integrated promos, Underdog creates a strong community feel. Underdog Deposit and Withdrawal Methods Deposit Options: Underdog Fantasy supports a range of fast and reliable deposit methods. Players can use credit or debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover), which are processed instantly. PayPal provides a secure eWallet option with immediate funding, while Venmo offers another quick way to add funds. Mobile users can also use Apple Pay or Google Pay. The minimum deposit is typically $10, though this can vary slightly by state and payment method. Across all options, deposits appear in the account instantly. Withdrawal Methods: Underdog Fantasy offers several secure withdrawal options. PayPal is the fastest and most reliable method, with most withdrawals processed within 24 to 48 hours. Direct-to-debit card withdrawals for Visa and Mastercard typically take two to five business days. Online banking via ACH usually processes within two to four business days. Check by mail is an option, though it is slower. The minimum withdrawal amount is generally $10. Processing Notes: Before a first withdrawal, users may be asked to verify their identity or provide payment proof. Withdrawals are generally processed back to the original deposit method whenever possible. Any bonus funds must meet the required playthrough terms before they become eligible for withdrawal. Trust and Safety Underdog Fantasy operates with a strong emphasis on trust and player safety. The platform is licensed and regulated in the U.S. states where it's active, typically under fantasy sports and DFS regulations. It's legally available in dozens of states, though availability depends on local regulations, so it's always smart to confirm the current active states. Since launching in 2020, Underdog has grown rapidly, earning a strong reputation among fantasy players for its best ball contests and expanding pick'em games. In 2026 Underdog also launched Underdog Predict, its own CFTC-regulated prediction-market exchange offering sports and cultural event contracts inside the same app. Prediction markets are federally regulated as derivatives rather than under state fantasy or sportsbook law, and availability differs by state, so users should confirm what is offered where they are located. Within the app, players can set deposit and entry limits, as well as use playtime controls to manage their activity. There are also options for self-exclusion and cooling-off periods. <![CDATA[When the American Cancer Society offered Vina Morris a ticket to a New York Giants game, she figured that was the extent of it. She’s a breast cancer survivor and founded a non-profit to help promote breast cancer awareness. This seemed like a nice, small reward. What she didn’t know was what came next. When she got to MetLife Stadium, she was quickly escorted to the field, where she posed for photos with other breast cancer survivors. That’s when Giants quarterback Jameis Winston snuck up from behind the group. And then he gave Morris two tickets to Super Bowl LXI. "I had no clue," Morris, who founded AfroPink, told me on Monday. "I was just asked, as a survivor, if I wanted to go to a Giants game. That was all. I was completely surprised. Oh my God, did you see me? I was jumping up and down like a little girl. I was so giddy and happy and excited." That’s just part of the joy the 32-year-old Winston tries to bring with his yearly gathering of breast cancer survivors at one of his games during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, in partnership with the NFL and the American Cancer Society, he invited a group of 10 survivors to watch the Giants’ game on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Once there, they were given blue Giants T-shirts with Winston’s No. 19 in pink on the front. They also got tickets for a suite and pre-game passes for down on the field. That’s when Winston showed up for photos, to present Morris with her Super Bowl tickets, and to thank the survivors for their ability to "still rise every single day, no matter those circumstances, and put on that smile and shine bright like the sun we have today." "It’s one of the most rewarding things I get to do," Winston told me. "We want to give these women a special experience, but every year I feel like I’m the one walking away blessed. Hearing their stories, sharing some laughs and just spending time together means so much. Football is a game we love, but opportunities like this remind me that our purpose goes far beyond what happens on the field." Helping breast cancer survivors has become a passion for Winston, who has held an annual event at games since he was with the New Orleans Saints in the early 2020s. He was inspired by the stories of his Aunt Lois in Birmingham, Alabama, and his Aunt De-De and cousin Tonda in Louisville, Kentucky, who are all survivors of the terrible disease. "Seeing what they’ve gone through and how they’ve continued to fight really puts things into perspective," Winston told me. "It started with wanting to honor them, but God has blessed me with a platform to encourage so many other women and families going through that same battle." That encouragement and recognition mean a lot, and so does the awareness Winston brings with his actions. It’s a disease that affects one in eight women, according to the American Cancer Society, which estimates that 321.910 women will be diagnosed with it in 2026 alone, and 42,140 will die. And for the many, many survivors, there is no escape from their diagnosis. "We never stop thinking about it," Morris told me. "We might not talk about it a lot, but trust me, it’s on our minds constantly. "And it’s gestures like that, that can brighten someone’s day to know our lives matter, our stories matter. But it also brings to the national stage that people are surviving this. It doesn’t have to be a death sentence. You have support." That support is the primary reason Winston holds this event. He knows, from his own experiences with his family members, that it’s important that women with breast cancer know they’re not alone. "What people don’t understand is that as breast cancer survivors, it’s a very lonely journey for some of us, if you don’t have any support," Morris told me. "So it means a lot when you have a celebrity, a quarterback of the New York Giants, who wants to do something nice for you and brighten your day. (Breast cancer) changes you forever. So to know someone who is willing to do something to help celebrate the trials and tribulations that we go through as survivors, is nothing short of amazing." Winston feels the same way about the survivors. He was inspired to do this by the way his aunts and cousin fought. But he finds more inspiration in every woman he meets who’s fought that battle, too. "These women are the definition of strength and resilience," Winston said. "They’ve faced challenges that most people can’t even imagine, and they continue to show up with courage, faith and a positive spirit. That’s inspiring to me. They remind me to be grateful, to keep fighting through adversity and to never take a single day for granted. "If I can encourage them even half as much as they encourage me, that’s a win." That’s why, when he handed the Super Bowl tickets to Morris, he called it a "small" gesture, especially "compared to what you’re doing and what you’re achieving." She earned the tickets not only through her own battle, but for founding AfroPink in 2020 — a non-profit she told me is about "awareness, access and action" (AfroPink.org). She used her own story to make sure people have access to "factual information" about breast cancer, as well as knowledge of how they can take action about their health, and how they can survive. "Vina has an incredible story," Winston told me. "To overcome breast cancer twice and then dedicate herself to helping other women through AfroPink says so much about who she is. She’s using her experience to make a difference in other people’s lives, and that’s exactly the kind of impact we want to celebrate." Morris believes Winston should be celebrated, too. "First of all, anyone that wants to work to help others, when you have the means to do so, is a great human being to me," she told me. "And he’s just an amazing human being. That’s just a really nice thing to do."]]>
